- The Student Name and
Student ID of any student may be easily modified or updated at any
time.
- STUDENT CONTACT
INFORMATION:
- The student contact
information may consist of just about any information that an
instructor wishes to include (E-Mail, Phone, Address, City, State, Zip,
Parent Name, Parent E-Mail, Parent Address, etc.).
- The Student Contact
Information may be easily modified at any time.
- LETTER-GRADE CHARCTERS:
- Because some
institutions do not use the standard letter grades (A, B, C, D, etc.)
we have included the option to select from a wide range of letters and
symbols.
- The instructor may
select any letter (or from a large number of symbols) to represent any
of the standard letter grades.
That is to say, rather than using the standard letter grades (A,
B, C, D, etc.) the instructor may select (W, X, Y, Z) or (G, S, H, R)
or even symbols such as (#, &, @, *).
- SETTINGS – GRAPHIC
INTERFACE:
- We have provided a
great graphic interface to make setting the “Points to Letter-Grade”,
“Attendance Points”, and “Participation Points” threshold levels
unbelievably easy and amazingly flexible. The instructor may set the “Points to Letter-Grade”,
“Attendance Points”, and “Participation Points” threshold levels or the
factory default settings may be used.
Also, the “Points to Letter-Grade”, “Attendance Points”, and
“Participation Points” threshold levels may be applied to all classes
or they may vary from class to class (at the instructor's
discretion).
- POINTS TO
LETTER-GRADE SETTINGS:
- Select any letter
(or symbol) to represent any letter grade. The point/letter-grade threshold levels are easily set
and reset. Grade Points are automatically
calculated for each assignment completed and are incorporated into the
student's grade. The Plus and
Minus on letter grades (A-, B+, and so on) are also provided as an
option and may be used at the instructor's discretion. We have provided an option to select
either "E" or "F" (or any other letter) as an
indicator for failing grades.
We have also included a Pass/Fail Point threshold level. The Pass/Fail Point threshold
applies to students with a Student Status of Pass/Fail. If the student achieves a cumulative
point value equal to or above this threshold then the student passes
the course, if it is below this threshold then the student fails the
course. The instructor may opt
to display a letter grade or "Pass" "Fail" on
reports of students with a "Pass/Fail" Student Status.
- COURSE NAMES:
- The Digital Grade
Book software allows the instructor to specify the name of the course
with complete meaningful names (History-101, Math, Algebra, Art II,
Metal Shop, Literature, Trigonometry, English, etc.) instead of
meaningless course ID's or abbreviations. The Course names may be easily modified at any time.
- ASSIGNMENTS:
- Assignments are
easily maintained and may be easily modified or updated at any
time. Assignments may be given
full descriptive names rather than meaningless numbers or inconvenient
ID's. The instructor may set up
all assignments at the beginning of the semester (quarter) or create
them one at a time as needed.
Assignment Names, Maximum Points, and Weight (optional), and
Active Date may be modified easily and at any time. Specific assignments may be
activated or deactivated with a simple click of the mouse. Also, the instructor may modify the
active date of any assignment at any time. Virtually any number of assignments may be created for
any class.
- EXEMPT – ASSIGNMENTS
- POINTS AWARDED:
- Students are
typically assigned a points-awarded value for each assignment
completed. The Digital Grade
Book allows the instructor to enter “EXEMPT” (in place of a numeric points awarded
value)
for students that are exempt from completing any assignment(s).
- ATTENDANCE (Perfect
Attendance, Absent, Tardy):
- Setting the
Attendance Points is unbelievably easy. We have provided a great graphic interface to make
setting the Attendance Points threshold levels extremely easy.
- Attendance Points
may be set by the instructor for Perfect Attendance, Number of times
Absent and Number of times Tardy.
- Attendance Points
are automatically calculated and optionally incorporated into the
student's grade. Attendance
Points may increase or decrease the student's resulting grade.
- Attendance Points
may be set (at the discretion of the instructor) in increments of 0.1
(one tenth) of a point, or to the next lower grade, or by one full
grade.
- Our graphic interface
allows settings to be maintained at all times with an option to
activate or deactivate their use with a simple click of the mouse.
- PARTICIPATION
(Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, None):
- Setting the
Participation Points is unbelievably easy. We have provided a great graphic interface to make
setting the Participation Points threshold levels extremely easy.
- Participation Points
may be set by the instructor for many different levels of student
participation in class.
- Participation Points
are automatically calculated and optionally may be incorporated into
the student's grade.
- Participation Points
may increase or decrease the student final grade.
- Participation Points
may be set (at the discretion of the instructor) in increments of 0.1
(one tenth) of a point, or to the next lower grade, or by one full
grade.
- Our graphic
interface allows settings to be maintained at all times with an option

o Weighted Grading is an
option that provides considerable flexibility for the instructor. We have provided both Fixed Weight and
Floating Weight functionality. Use of
weighted grading is at the discretion of the instructor. Weighted grading may be used on a class-by-class
basis. Also, the weight may vary from
class to class and assignment to assignment.
- SEATING CHART:
- The software
automatically creates excellent seating charts whenever a class data
file is opened or when a "NEW" class file is created. The student information contained in
the seating chart may include First Name, Middle Name, Last Name,
Student ID, Total Points, and Letter Grade. Also, the seating chart is automatically color-coded to
indicate Student Status (Audit, Pass/Fail, Withdraw) as well as
students that are currently failing.
Seating chart information may be sorted by any of the data
(First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Student ID, Total Points, Letter
Grade) and arranged in just about any way.
- GRAPHS:
- The Digital Grade
Book software provides on-screen graphs at the click of a button. Standard Deviation, Class Average,
Number of students above or equal to the Class Average, and Number of
students below the Class Average are calculated for all graphs and
displayed in the Header.
